Gilgit baltastan
History of Gilgit
Gilgit Baltastan, which was most recently known as the
Northern Areas presently consists of seven districts, has a population
approaching one million, and has an area of approximately 29000 square miles
and shares borders with Afghanistan, China, and India. Gilgit Baltastan borders
the Wakhan Corridor of Afghanistan to the northwest, the Xinjiang Uyghur
Autonomous Region of China to the north, Pakistan's Azad Kashmir to the
southwest, Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the west, and northeast
and the Indian-administered state of Jammu and Kashmir to the southeast.
On 1 November 1947 the new commander and chief of Gilgit
scouts Mr. Mirza Hassan Khan take his charge and the new present of Gilgit
baltastan Mr. Raja Shah Rais Khan chosen by the people of Gilgit. The Gilgit
scouts battle with the Hindus and skies and make away them and make the Gilgit
baltastan a new state in the world and after run their government for 16 day
the government of Gilgit baltastan, decided on the call of government of
Pakistan to make Gilgit baltastan a state of Pakistan.
1947 to 1970 Government of Pakistan established Gilgit
Agency and Baltastan Agency. Gilgit Baltastan, which was most recently known as
the Northern Areas.
